1. Who we are
This website is operated by DLS (“we”, “us”, “our”), trading as dlssocial.com. [Company legal name, registered in England & Wales, company number XXXXXXXX, registered address: [address].]
We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact us at hello@dlssocial.com with any data protection queries.
2. What data we collect
We collect a limited amount of data. Specifically:
- —Analytics data — if you accept cookies, Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data: pages visited, approximate location (country/region level), device type, browser, and session duration. No personally identifiable information is included.
- —Contact form submissions — if you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name (optional), the service you are enquiring about, and your message. This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
- —Cookie consent preferences — we store your cookie consent choice (accepted or rejected) and the timestamp of that choice in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
We do not collect sensitive personal data, payment information, or data relating to children.
3. How and why we use it
We use the data we collect for the following purposes, each with a lawful basis under UK GDPR:
- —Analytics — lawful basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a)). We only process analytics data if you have given explicit consent via the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
- —Responding to enquiries — lawful basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). We use contact form submissions to respond to your request. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your data without your consent.
- —Cookie consent management — lawful basis: legitimate interests. Storing your consent preference locally avoids showing you the same banner on every page.
5. Third parties
We use a limited number of third-party services:
- —Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited) — analytics, only loaded with your consent. Google may transfer data to servers in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. See Google's Privacy Policy. We have enabled IP anonymisation.
- —Hosting — [PLACEHOLDER: e.g. Vercel, Netlify — add their DPA details here.]
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with any other third parties.
6. Data retention
- —Analytics data — retained by Google Analytics for 14 months (our configured retention period), after which it is automatically deleted.
- —Contact enquiries — retained for [PLACEHOLDER: e.g. 12 months] from the date of your last correspondence, then securely deleted.
- —Cookie consent records — stored in your browser until you clear your browser data or change your preference. No copy is held on our servers.
7. Your rights under UK GDPR
As a UK resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- —Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- —Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- —Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data where there is no compelling reason to continue processing it.
- —Restriction of processing — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- —Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- —Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent (e.g. analytics cookies), you can withdraw at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect lawfulness of prior processing.
- —Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dlssocial.com. We will respond within one calendar month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
